Meet the Team

Maureen - Founder and Co-ordinator

Founder, and voluntary Coordinator of Insights, Maureen is now retired, but just as busy as when she was working. She brings her professional background as a BACP Accredited Counsellor and Accredited Supervisor to her long held belief that a bereavement listening project for Nantwich and rural areas is a much-needed community service.

Her interests are family history, reading, being with family & friends and ongoing learning.

Sue - Chair

Following careers in education and community work, Sue started to volunteer with Insights, firstly as Secretary in June 2021, then as one of the friendship group volunteers. Sue feels privileged to have been voted Chair of this well respected community group whose volunteers do a fantastic job, supporting local bereaved persons.

In her spare time, Sue enjoys reading, and spending time with friends and family. She is also a keen member of the local u3a.

John - Treasurer

John has a background in finance and with his wife’s ‘persuasion’ agreed to become Insight’s Treasurer.

Now retired, John enjoys volunteering in the community, and wears many hats.  He has been a Director of the Nantwich Food Festival for many years, and on the committee of the Crewe & Nantwich Talking Newspaper.

A proud Geordie. He enjoys cricket and football, is a lifetime supporter of Sunderland FC, and an avid Dabbers season ticket holder.

Rhiannon - Secretary

Rhiannon loves volunteering with Insights, she finds it hugely rewarding, a complete seachange to her old life, where she had no time to 'give back'.

Rhiannon is married to Matt, with two teenage boys, a very energetic springer spaniel and an aloof Cat.  Her passions are food & music, ideally both together.

Rhiannon is a part time Trust Fundraiser at The Wingate Centre in Wrenbury.  She moved to Nantwich in 2019 after spending 23 years in London, working in media.

Meet the Team - Carole.jpg

Carole - Supervisor

Carole was delighted to be given the opportunity to use her past experience as a qualified Counsellor and Supervisor to support Insights Listener's in a voluntary supervisory capacity.

Carole's pastimes include yoga, walking, reading and spending time with family and friends.

Glyn - Supervisor

Glyn is retired from counselling, which she did for around 20 years.

Glyn now enjoys walking, mainly with her husband and Labrador Dusty.

Glyn says, "no points for guessing how old I am if you remember Dusty Springfield you’ll know."

I love to dance & garden, and see friends & family. I am a volunteer with Insights and work with our amazing listeners in supervision.
